 FAQs

  • This all depends on the goal of the final video! Is it an artistic and moving call to action? In that case, you might need some epic scenery and a quiet place for a voice over. An educational piece? Maybe we’d need to find a school or gorgeous office building to film in. A behind-the-scenes look at your process? A couple of your favorite inspirational locations + your studio itself would be perfect for that. We’ll work with you to map your video and help find the best locations!

  • This also depends on the purpose of the video. If you’re promoting a new offering, it can be helpful to have several different lengths of similar content for different purpose. For example, let’s say you’re promoting your new live online course. You’ll probably need a video explaining it in detail, maybe 2-3 minutes long. Then, you’ll probably need a few shorter videos for promoting your new course on social media. There are all kinds of ways to promote your business online, and we love all the creative possibilities of video content!

  • We’re here to help you find the right people! We can talk more about this in our initial conversation, and as we’re planning the video.

  • We typically use a shotgun mic attached to our camera to pick up crisp, detailed, smooth audio while we’re on location. We’ll find a quiet place to film the voice-over part, as even small noises you wouldn’t typically notice can come through on a sensitive microphone. Things like traffic noise, doors shutting, footsteps and creaks, phone notifications, etc. We’ll do several takes of the voice-over to make sure we have quality, natural-sounding audio.

  • Yes! We’ll send you the first draft of the video, then you’ll have the option for revisions before the end of the project.

  • You can use any music that you have the rights to! Songs that you hear on the radio are generally very hard/expensive to get the rights to use. We have access to a large library of music that we have a license to use in any project. There are also many places online you can license a unique piece of music for your business or personal use. Even better, you could buy a license directly from an independent musician!

  • We like our sessions to be laid back, fun, and relaxed. Especially if you’re showing up on camera! We’ll map out the content of the video ahead of time so that the session flows smoothly. Nick and Chelsea work together to direct and Nick does the main cinematography. Chelsea also films on a second camera and assists. It’s a super fun and creative experience!

  • Usually, yes! Especially if you’ll be speaking on camera or doing a voice-over. We strongly recommend that you come with it memorized — That way your delivery will be smooth and confident.

In our pre-production process, we first determine the overall goal of the video, then explore storytelling, messaging/script, and video outline.

Each video is different, and the type and amount of scripting varies too.

  • We get this a lot, but don’t worry… Our goal is for you to LOVE your final video, and we’ll help you make it happen. Our top 3 tips for going on camera:

1 - Make sure you’re prepared! We’ll help you plan the session in advance. If you’re going to be speaking on camera or as a voice-over, we definitely recommend you memorize what you’re about to say - or at least memorize your points and be absolutely 1000% certain that you can speak to them fluently and freely. Practicing in the mirror might feel a bit weird at first but it is very helpful!

2 - Make sure what you’re wearing is comfortable and that you won’t be tugging on your clothes or holding yourself unnaturally. Wear what makes you feel confident and like your happiest, most authentic self!

3 - Bring all your personal essentials to have on hand - water, hairbrush, lipstick, lotion, whatever it is that you use regularly. It’s also a good idea to bring a mirror!

We’ll also help coach you day-of if you’d like!

  • Yes, Nick is an FAA-certified drone pilot! We’d love to talk more about incorporating drone footage into your project - let us know if this is something you’re interested in, & learn more on our aerial cinematography page.
